"062099", the first CD release from Micro-East Collective, was recorded
live at The ArtsCenter West End Theatre in Carrboro, NC during a free performance for
Carrboro's Fete de la Musique festival, a one-day festival that features a couple hundred performers from all walks of music.

Two selections from the 90-minute concert - "Lament" and the three-part "Exploring the Metal Sphere" - were chosen for release.

The first selection, "Lament," is a group improvisation based on a traditional melody sung by a Czech survivor of Auschwitz as depicted in Tony Gatlif's amazing gypsy music film "Latcho Drom." The second composition, David Morris's "Exploring the Metal Sphere" is a three-part study in note, dynamic, and timbre selection by the individuals within Micro-East Collective.
